Our Story

In 1996, Harvest Mission Community Church started with a group of eight people in Ann Arbor and a dream: to be a 1st century church in the 21st century. As we looked into the book of Acts, God gave us the vision to be a community of faith that raises bold disciples of Christ who will transform the world. Since then, we’ve started churches in Austin, Jakarta, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

In 2012, the Detroit ministry started with five members from HMCC of Ann Arbor who had a vision to see Detroit transformed with the Gospel message. The ministry grew and multiplied to two LIFE Groups and has seen people from many backgrounds experience Biblical community, discipleship, and new life in Christ.

In 2017, HMCC of Ann Arbor announced that HMCC of Detroit would officially launch in 2018. In March, a team was chosen to help Pastor Sam Beck and the Detroit ministry leaders to build up the ministry and start the church. We look forward to all that God will do through HMCC of Detroit in 2018 and beyond as we serve and reach out to the city of Detroit with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
